Hi Steve6375,

 

It's correct, I Press F2, enter FRED 15+ Times and password remain.

i can keep doing the same thing all day and vostro BIO'S don't lockup at all.

That is not what should happen according to those websites!

 

You could try flashing on an old BIOS - but this could trash the mainboard as they mention 'corrupt NVRAM'...

Can you send a screenshot of what you get? Rather than us trying to guess what you are seeing.

What codes do you see? Service Tag? HDD number? System Number?  FFID? Hint? etc.

Most of those website are using Dogbert program i already try with 6 vendor in ebay (the same guy same vendor with more than 10 listing and 10+ websites offering same service),  and none solved. As i said : As long the Service tag have 7 digits + 4 digits mixed with letter) using dogbert program the password can be removed. I'll take screen shot and i'll post monday (i don't have a notebook with me)

btw the screen shot from http://dell-vostro-b...vostro_323.html none of it are the same what i'm getting., (i'll read these site from UK.)

 

My last step will be the eprom replacement.

OK, so what about other possibilities that were mentioned:

 

1. Downgrade to early BIOS

2. Short pins on SEEPROM chip

3. You said you flashed the EEPROM - do you mean the NVRAM SEEPROM that stores the password, etc. or the BIOS EEPROM?

 

If you can replace SEEPROM chip, and you have a programmer, you could just buy one chip and then copy the contents to the others.

 

P.S. re. Dell master pwd - presumably you were very careful about case-sensitive letters?

I am surprised Dell gave you these - were they for one specific system or were they generic?
