Hai,

I was trying to automate the windows installation with full format. But i ran it on backup system without remembering it. Now everything is gone with single partition. But already i had 3 partition. Which tool would be better to recover. I tried active partition recovery but it goes on scanning for long time without finding any. Plz suggest a solution which would recover quickly.

Thanks in advance...

Are you sure about the "full" format?

Starting with Windows Vista the "full" format option (i.e. the "not quick" or without the /q switch) WIPES the whole extents of the volume by overwriting 00's.

IF this is the case, NOTHING can be recovered (and you will have learned - at a very dear price - the risks of "automatic" and unatttended" setups).

IF that was XP r arlier OR if after all the /q switch was used, very likely you can recover a large part of your files, personally I use DMDE for this kind of recovery (which not necessarily is "easy" or "quick"):

Better to experiment with virtual machines first. That is what i usually do when i have to try something new which i am not familiar with.

Try TestDisk (google for 'testdisk photorec')

Do a scan using 'Intel' for type.
