Sorry for the very readable post.
Havn't posted so long, completely forgot, that i need to edit a new post, for it to show up properly.
At the moment, i use an external enclosure, which is connected by USB3 and handles internally a mirror raid with 2 HDD.
Can you reboot between "no Raid/Raid Off" and "Raid Enabled/Raid On"?
I could, but i don't want to.
Right now i get the backup station out of storage - set it up - connect it - copy the files - delete files from download cache - safe remove the BS - unlug it - put it back in storage.
Not a whole lot of work once or twice a month.
Just somewhat annoying.
The only reason my computer has no HDDs build in is powersaving. There's plenty of room in the case.
I could now rip the BS apart and put its contents into my computer. But i was hoping for a bit more elegant solution.
PS: What are JBOD?
