Hi, I was trying to make the latest Hiren's Boot CB work with XBOOT (including the Mini XP) and after a few hours testing I figured out a way to make it work.
1. Install any other distro to make the usb stick bootable with SYSLINUX (memtest86+ is good)
2. Extract de Folder HBCD from Hiren's ISO to the usb stick root
3. Copy the /boot/menu.lst from the HBCD folder to the usb root
4. Create an entry on the menu file (/boot/syslinux.cfg)
### MENU START
LABEL -
MENU LABEL Hiren's Boot CD
COM32 /boot/syslinux/chain.c32 fs grldr=/HBCD/grldr
### MENU END
That's it, now the Mini XP with load with all the functions and the menu with the applications will work just fine.
A bonus tip, how to add reboot and shutdown to the menu.
1. Download the "reboot.c32" and "poweroff.com" from https://www.kernel.o...slinux-4.03.zip (this version will work)
2. Put the 2 files on /syslinux/boot/ boot folder of the usb stick
3. Create the 2 entries on the /boot/syslinux.cfg
### MENU START
LABEL -
MENU LABEL Reboot
COM32 /boot/syslinux/reboot.c32
### MENU END
### MENU START
LABEL -
MENU LABEL Shutdown
COMBOOT /boot/syslinux/poweroff.com
### MENU END
That's it, i successfully replaced the YUMI I was using with XBOOT, the ability to test the options with QEMU is very handy
PS: Sorry by my English, just trying to help.
PS2: Check the SliTaz distro, discovery it today, 35mb of glory
