EDIT: It breaks my url, I hope it works
" There have been 87 items by MedEvil (Search limited from 08-September 11)" Why limited?
@Uvais: You can append a "/" char whenever you see that ugly error. For example, from
http://reboot.pro/17467#entry160093/to
http://reboot.pro/17467/#entry160093/

Can you explain the search which leads to that page?
Or give us a screen shoot of the search formular?

Obviously (according the perverted minds of the board's developers ) you do NOT want to SEARCH for the topics you started.
You rather want to see "New Contents" and from it FILTER the CONTENTS by date and Author.
I.e. Click on "View New Content" on the top right:
http://reboot.pro/in...arch_app=forums
So you want to check (on the left of the above page) "Past year" (which is the MAXimum available "timeframe" hence the cut-off on September 2011) and check "Items I started".
Of course you dont' start "threads", you start "items"

Yes, the steps are correct. But there is still a problem: what if I want to see all topics started by X member ( in this example MedEvil ) ?
I click his nickname and go to this page http://reboot.pro/user/2192-medevil/ then I click "Find content" in the upper-right menu. And now I use the same filter.
To answer pscEx questions, if there is a search formular to lead to that page, I didn't find it ... .
But still, what if I want to find the first topic started by MedEvil? How can I extend the Past year filter ?

Actually I can see many more than one.But there is still a problem:
Among them, yes, there is the absolutely senseless limit to a 1 year timeframe, it is very possible that this is only a "default" and that Nuno can change a setting to extend this period, but cannot say.
Most of the issue is of course related to (again senseless) use of linguistics.
You start a new THREAD by clicking on a button with "Start new TOPiC", but if you want to SEARCH for it, you INSTEAD FILTER CONTENT by using a filter talking of ITEMS.
I'ts just like creating a new FOLDER and if you change your idea you don't delete it but you are told to REMOVE the DIRECTORY .

You are right, this is an option on the admin panel. I changed it from 365 days to 3650 days.Among them, yes, there is the absolutely senseless limit to a 1 year timeframe, it is very possible that this is only a "default" and that Nuno can change a setting to extend this period, but cannot say.
The board software might be following the same direction as Office 2010. I no longer know how to use their

Wait for Windows 8, and then you will understand how the good guys that dumbified Office were kids ....The board software might be following the same direction as Office 2010. I no longer know how to use their
crapspreadsheet to keep in fixed view two lines from the top of document or just find whatever in need in "magic" ribbon. I feel somewhat dumbified..
Still someone will need to explain me WHY (on the board) the actual "Search" icon (a magnifying glass) is used for "simple, local" search (though since unless you fill something in the editbox it will give you an error page) a simple text on the left (which IS there) "Search ..." would call for a "Go" button, whilst a (badly) stylized gearbox is used for "Advanced Search".
(in most UI's a gearbox symbol is used for "Settings").
