Please test with the stable version.

We are trying to ensure that the project works well with for as many users as possible and this means using the version that works with current projects.

I am going to use the stable version, I just wanted to see if the error I got was still in 081.

Sorry, You use a faulty nativeEx_multiPE script.project. (I uploaded a version containing my local path names).

Corrected now.

Here is the contents of tools.txt

First, you need to find all following files before you build.
You can find some of them in http://ludovici.winbuilder.net, FileManager (FltMgr\...) must be from xp sp3 or above.
devcon.exe

FltMgr\fltlib.dll
FltMgr\fltMc.exe
FltMgr\fltmgr.inf
FltMgr\fltMgr.sys

However, I can't find these files. Please help me out !

The new version can be optionally run under the latest official stable version 080-3 of WinBuilder.

Hi Peter,

I have two official versions of WinBuilder 080. I have downloaded them in zip files on 2/28/2010 and 6/25/2010. The file dates and resource version informations are
02/23/2010 77.101.0.0
03/02/2010 80.0.3.0

The first one is binary identical to the version that presently can be downloaded on WinBuilder.net. I guess the second is the one you refer to as 080-3. Were there any other changes besides correcting the version info in the resource? If yes it would make sense to put that version as the active download on WinBuilder.net.

Many Greetings
MichaelZ

I redownloaded the nativeEx_multiPE archive and now both 080 and 081 build and iso is created. The only problem is that 080 gets constant messageboxes saying

K:\nativex\WinBuilder.exe version not suited for easyShortcutParse

The resulting iso size is also different, the 080 version is 97 394 688 bytes and 081 version is 103 288 832 bytes.

Thanks for the report.

A new issue when trying to run the multiPE project with the stable 080-3.

You have the version "77" MichaelZ mentioned. And multiPE checks for "80" ...

"Oficial Download" is not 80-3. Should be fixed.

Probably the download could be changed from direct exe to a wrapped one inside a zip or 7z archive. That way one can see the date the file was created and it remains viewable when the file is extracted to the file system.

Propably two issues:
  • multiPE_Win7 track is not applied
  • nativeEx_multiPE accepts only x86 source CDs. A x64 PE has no real advantages compared with x86 (When do you need to adress several GigaByte memory in a PE?)

We need to be careful about changes on winbuilder.exe since these changes can break other projects. We don't have resources to keep them updated if minor changes are introduced (and it is already difficult to keep things running using a stable version), so the official stable wb should be used until a new one is made available.

The good news is that a more recent stable version is on the works to replace 080.

Hi Peter
I have some free time to play with nativeEx_multiPE
Where do we download Winbuilder v81.0.1.191 or
version 080-3, please provide link.

I also assume that we must have succesfully built
Joshua's Win7RescuePE just like we used to do with
nativeEx_Win7 before building nativeEx_multiPE,

Is there a newer version of Joshua's Win7RescuePE
for download.

Hi RoyM,

you can download version 080.3 from paraglider's homepage.

Regarding version 81.0.1.191 please wait for Peter's answer.

A pre-built Win7RescuePE is not necessary anymore.

Is there a newer version of Joshua's Win7RescuePE
for download.

Not at moment. But Joshua is working on a new (german ?) version.

MaineCoon

Hi Peter,

don't wanna disturb your pleasant/sunny/modest warm/ Sunday, but I fear to be enunciator of good news and bad news ;).

Good news:
initialization (Win7) is working well :worship:

Bad news:
something happened with this fix :)

Please compare these versions:

Friday
Attached File  Win7_GUI_Friday.GIF   46.97KB   40 downloads
Saturday
Attached File  Win7_GUI_Saturday.GIF   58.25KB   37 downloads

Cannot imagine that 'Architecture XP' is necessary using Win7 source.
If 'yes' I/you will get 572 errors!

BTW: I failed to build multiPE_XP as well as multiPE_Vista, will post a detailed log/thread on Monday or Tuesday, but my first goal is to wait for a running multiPE_Win7 :worship:

Regards,
Walter

No, that's no longer necessary. I physically added Joshua's core files (Copy, build registry, shell) in the project and adapted to multiPE_Win7.

Hello,

I successfully built a multiPE Win7 disc but the file sharing option of PEnetwork does not seem to work. It starts and stops a little later.

Parameters :

ImageIndexEx -> Install.wim = Win7 Enterprise
Lang : en-US

Winbuilder.exe version : 81.0.2.130 , Use WB 080 compatibility modus unchecked

Checking the registry of the multiPE built, I saw that the entry LanmanServer does not exist.

I added manually the missing entry LanmanServer. File sharing starts but multiPE Win7 remains inaccessible to the other computers on the network. I cannot see the shared folders of PE Win7 in another computer. I tried also running TightVNC Server but this one also is not accessible to the VNC clients.

Trying in the command line :

wpeutil DisableFirewall

reports

The command failed with status 0x800706d9

Do you have any experience with PENetwork in other win7 projects.

My first assumption is that it is rather an issue of PENetwork than of nativeEx_multiPE.
Of course it is also possible that I did not copy a necessary dll, or the boot order of the PE must be corrected.

Yes, I have experience with PENetwork in another Win7 project : Wimb's Make-PE3 In that project, file sharing works fine.
