I built a Windows 7 x86 live disc from Win7PE_SE using WinBuilder 082 and everything went fine without errors or warnings. Now I'm testing the image using a VMWare virtual machine that has Windows XP installed, but when I boot from the live disc the system doesn't mount the HDD where XP is intalled. The HDD doesn't come up in Computer Management either.
The funny thing is I included Hiren's BootCD and Parted Magic and when I boot from one of those they do recognize the HDD.

How can I fix this?

Just to clarify - is it the disk in the virtual machine that isn't seen? If so, please give more information about the specific of the HD controller! It is very possible that you don't have the right driver included. Pmagic is Linux, and so it would have the linux driver, and I'm not sure at all which way you "booted" HBCD...

Look to see if there are unrecognized "devices" in the VM when using the PE, and if so, then add the drivers you need (there are scripts for that which can add individual drivers -or even the driver packs).

I booted a VMWare XP machine from a PE3 cd built with multiPE. The C: drive is visible.

We have to find the differences between your and my configuration / build.

Never mind, it works after installing the VMware Tools. I just tested the disk on my desktop PC and my laptop and it seems to work fine.

Just to clarify - is it the disk in the virtual machine that isn't seen? If so, please give more information about the specific of the HD controller! It is very possible that you don't have the right driver included.

Yes, it's the virtual HD using SCSI.

Pmagic is Linux, and so it would have the linux driver, and I'm not sure at all which way you "booted" HBCD...

HBCD includes a Mini Windows XP you can boot.
