Very nice indeed! :) Now I was wondering if it is possible to chainload Syslinux from kexec-loader seeing this would be the perfect opportunity to finally put an end to those BIOS limitations.

What I would like to do is boot kexec-loader residing on a CD and then chainload to Syslinux on a USB stick (menu would pop up just as usual and it would act as if it was booted directly from USB).

Is that possible?

@ windstar
No, that is not possible.

Kexec-loader is a linux kernel which will mount your USB drive. Syslinux requires a BIOS interface and doesn't see the USB stick mounted by Kexec-loader. Kexec-loader can only boot linux based tools.

PLoP bootloader add USB BIOS support which Syslinux, grub4dos, ... can use.

Ah, that's exactly what I was looking for. Nevertheless, kexec-loader is one great bootloader - I'm sure it might come in handy in the future. Great work! :)

its not kexec-loader related but

maybe plopkexec (an additional boot manager beside the plop boot manager) is interesting for you
