SoftMaker FreeOffice 2018 is free to use at home and for business. After using it, you will agree that it is the best free alternative to Microsoft Office.

FreeOffice is a complete Office suite with a word processor, a spreadsheet application and a presentation program – all compatible with their counterparts in Microsoft Office.

What's the catch? There is none. Simply download it for free and use it for as long as you want. Millions of people are using it every day and enjoy this great free Office suite.

System requirements: Windows 7, 8, 10, Windows Server 2008 R2 or newer, any PC-based Linux (32 or 64 bits)

Looks really good. They mention a Mac edition but I was unable to find it. Do you think it is still available somewhere?

thanks

Many thanks. I was able to run it. For presentations and spreadsheet worked really good.

Just for text documents had the usual problems, Microsoft really makes sure it is difficult to replicate their format.

Good find!

I saw the link to them on another forum and wanted to share the info here, I haven't heard about them before.

It will be good if somebody test any of this, he(she) shares his findings here.

I've used it some time ago,
if for the standard use of office or student, this software is quite promising. Very light

I would be good if you tell us wich version you have used, the more info you give the better.

Thanks in advance.

New version of FreeOffice 2021, there is also a FreePDF editor available.

FreeOffice 2021 enables you to both open and save documents in the Microsoft file formats DOCX, XLSX and PPTX. Thus, you can share files directly with Microsoft Office users without having to export them first!

The program page is this.

Hello,

After the installation, FreeOffice provides a tool to make a portable version, that's very nice.

Looks OK, I had this a few years back.  If I remember correctly after a new edition comes out it prompts you to BUY the product instead of upgrade free.  So you will have to download the newer installation again and install it manually if you want the new version.  I seem to remember that it nags every time you launch it if you don't upgrade.  Sorry if I have this wrong, I know it was a product called FreeOffice, it's been a few years since I have used it.

I've downloaded this and will test it.  I am interested in seeing if this has features locks for a higher priced subscription or purchase.  It's OK if it is, although I just like to know this stuff before I NEED to do something and can't because that feature is no available on the FREE version.

I switched to Libre Office portable after the nagging started.
