This scripts allow to add the Defraggler defragmenter to our project. It downloads the lastest version from internet and then add it to our project. It needs to allow the connection to internet, because uses a custom downloader (made by me).

If you have any problem with download, you can go to Defraggler webpage and download the portable version. Then copy the zip file to "%GlobalTemp%\Defraggler\Defraggler.zip" and the script should detect the file and avoid the download.

i used it with auslogic defrag , auslogic is really fast while defraggler is not . by now i think auslogic has reached the same quality as defraggler .....

some others tools like perfect disk are really better than both others . it has a ssd defrag option while both others not , that will come for sure ;']

Been using Defragler for years.  I especially like the ability to move large files to the end of the drive.  I have a bunch of static VHD files that don't change outwardly, once defragged and moved they are moved out of the way and subsequent defrags are fast.

it does copy at end but if you update it or use a fresh windows and forget to set the option before lauching it ...then it will move all files that are already "right positioned"

it is a bug i reported , but never had an email saying that was fixed ...i mean that normally , a software specialized in defrag , should "see" that files are end are all here because a defrag software made it....[that can not be done by wiwi ...no ,   it can do it ;'] ? ] and so does not move them at all ...

all programmers think they have the "brightest brain making the best softwares..."

While 'Perfect Disk" is a really nice defrag program. SSD defrag is nothing but a marketing gag to lure in the noobs.
There is absolutely no point in defraging a SSD, unless you wanna have it the shortest possible lifespan.

Give the speed of SSD optimize probably does not do much more than a trim which is important on an SSD. You of course do not need perfect disk to do a trim. Tools supplied by SSD manufacturer usually support that and other options. Depending on windows version it also supports manual invoke of trim.

Solid State Drives are not affected by file fragmentation like traditional electromechanical disk drives. However, free space consolidation can improve SSDwrite performance. The SSD Optimize defrag method is a special defrag method for SSD drives that focuses on free space consolidation without defragmentation of files. As such, it will leave files in a fragmented state while consolidating free space into large pieces.
we all use ssd mainly for os , having a defrag of drive after install and updates , is a good thing to do , that should also help to reduce the size of the MFT and its FRAGMENTATION...
may be that could help the ssd to live longer ?...plus when it s done the defragmentation occurs at end of drive .
i wonder if services and tools for the prefetching aka SuperFetch [ and ReadyBoost. ] should be turned off with ssd and if that does or not kill more the SSD than a defrag or too ;"]

Defrag a SSD?  NO,

 

Contig?  Yeah, especially when the file MUST be contiguous, like boot files for Easy2Boot.
