Since the beginning of April of this year, I see that YaYa has been working on a graphic-entry feature in GRUB4DOS 0.4.6a.

How can I add graphic rectangles for each menu entry and what file types are supported? I tried using the ICO extension, but it doesn't seen to work. :(

Can I still keep the menu text along with the graphical rectangles or is the menu text replaced completely?

I want to be able to try it out! :)

Sorry for the late reply.

I tried this out a while ago.

The graphics rectangle that you specify replaces each menu entry.

You can specify a menu grid (e.g.  8 x 2) rather than just a single column. Each graphics rectangle has to be the same size (background can be made transparent too if you wish - I think).

I found there were quite a few bugs in it and gave up, mainly because each menu entry would require a tailor-made graphics rectangle containing an icon+text. I cannot remember what format I used, but grub4dos 0.4.6c understands .bmp and .jpg (and compressed.gz versions of these).

I think the grub2 system is better where they have an icon to the left of the text menu entry. At least you don't need a different graphics object for every menu entry.

Thank you for the reply.

Would it be okay if you can show me some examples and what code to use to create graphical menus?

Thanks again.
