Here's another option for making a Windows installation bootable from Linux. I've created tool called BCD-SYS which is a set of BASH scripts that copy the boot files then build a BCD hive. It works like bcdboot but uses its own template files rather than the system BCD template among other differences. It can be run from a local folder or be installed to the system. It's still a WIP but I think its a useful companion to the wimlib-imagex tools.
