I created this script in order to demonstrate the 'Link' facilities since WB 076.

To explain, here first a screen shoot:
ExternalApps.gif

You have the possibility to link (currently) up to four different application directories, either WinBuilder scripts or BartPE plugins.

In the sample BartPe apps (plugin) and apps from Win7PE are added.

All the app scripts are handled as if they are project scripts. You can select / deselect them or change options (where applicable. In BartPE scripts that usually is not possible).

I'm glad if I get suggestions for the next script version.

Maybe 4 possible links is not very usable. Maybe instead of this there should be a list of 'Linked apps' with the options to add one, or to remove an existing one.

Maybe we could think about drivers ...

BTW: In a test under VirtualBox the Win7PE apps really worked (including correct shortcuts) under the nativeEx from XP CD built PE
(Using latest Common_API version by pedrole15 :P )

Maybe I can agree, maybe i disappoint you:

Whether a Vista / Win7 World script can be used in the NT / XP / 2003 World depends on the script itself. Using Pedro's new Common API correctly, it should work in both worlds.

With the script logic itself I'm sorry to disappoint you (for now)
ExternalApps.Script which maps the external apps, is a real nativeEx-World script.

But some hope:
Maybe somebody ports / adapts / rewrites ... for the Vista or Win7 world ...

I think that the chance is not too bad.

And in the cover of night  , the project maintainers gathered, to plot Peters untimely death. :P
It was a heated discussion, should he be :) or :P, should he be :P or :P.
But there were fears he might :P.
In the end it was agreed that there was only one punishment worst enough for him, eternal :)

LOOOOONG time ago we have had an 'Archive', downloadable from the WinBuilder Server.

My dream has been all times to rebuild this idea.

But the projects run into different directions.

Now, since Pedrole15's common api, and the cooperation of different project 'owners' this dream could become reality again.

BTW:
The Link mechanism I ONLY wrote for linking to BartPE plugins, but today I have had te crazy idea to check ...

I'm sure that there are still a lot of issues, but ...

Peter

BTW: Because I'm the introducer (and therefore expert!) here for :) :
It does not make sence to try it against me :P

But you're only the expert at getting it, not the expert at avoiding it!

There are appearently different issues to answer you.
The simplest answer: pedro's common api: just find a post by him and use the signature's link.

The download issue is more complicated.
Did you try in Download > Proxy to define your proyx access data?

If yes, we have a serious issue which we should try to solve in a separate topic.

The other questions including the question in the link you gave seems to be secondary then.

WHERE can i download this externalApps script ? it is not inside nativeex link which is in my 0.76 . i have downloaded all the other archieve from within 0.76 and copied to 0.77 folder . it is now ready to build .

( edit : have external apps now )

i need this script , and the pedro;s api , ( will i have to disable the included api option from nativeex archieve ? )

and by the way i have noticed , that some of my most fav scripts , dipe , wimpack , BootSDI are not included in nativeEx ? are they not familiar with each other ?

and yes peter , i used the exact same proxy which i am using in 0.76 . and is working just fine there , i ll start new topic once this avira thing get rid from me .

thanks..

Maybe a good idea, is to ask psc directly, for such intimate details about his project.

Thanks, Medevil, for this silent remembering!

@maanu: You find it in the nativeEx recommended download under "Tools".

Due to contents of nativeEx:
nativeEx is the root of many other projects, like LiveXP.
The nativeEx_barebone project intentionally does only include the scripts to generate a running PE.

But with the new ExternalApps.Script you can have always the latest nativeEX and add your favourized scripts from other projects or from BartPE.

API: Pedro's new API is already in the latest download, and point to it in script.project:
%API%=%Exec%\Basic\Build\common_api.script
