Don't worry. This project is not written to create the unwelcome BSOD!
It creates a Blue Screen Of Rescue.

It is an enhancement of the nativeEx_BlueCon project which herewith becomes obsolete.

New: The MS RecoveryConsole is added.
And new with the RecoveryConsole:
As real nativeEx project it is made 100% from the source CD:
  • Download of Microsoft's 'create XP setup floppies' is not necessary
  • It works also with W2003 ('create W2003 setup floppies' does not exist, or I googled wrong)
  • You have your standard keyboard and language
  • The boot image is extracted from 'spcmdcon.sys' by my new program 'bootExt'
(RecoveryCD.bat by Dean Adams can only extract from XP spcmdcon.sys. He uses the offset.
My app searches for the boot image, which e.g. for W2003 has a different offset)
Currently I tested successfully with XP SP2 and W2003 R2 (SP1), both German and English.

Attached the project. Attached File  nativeEx_BSOR.zip   320.99KB   1379 downloads
Unzip it into the 'Projects' folder.
In the first run you must execute Basic > Build > CheckTools to download the nativeEx core.

Peter

EDIT: I found some issues with W2003. Some txtsetup.sif-s seem to need small patches.

I knew that making you interested in "booting matters" would have produced good results!

Hi Peter,

To let you know: I modified my DriverPacks mass storage driver script to be compatible with nativeEx_BSOR (in this project, drivers aren't located in \system32\drivers\). So the script is still able to be used under nativeEx-based projects -- including nativeEx_BSOR.

Did you replace the zip file, or you haven't yet been able to deal with the issues?

Thanks,
Galapo.

There is still the old beta zip.
I think if users get troubles with W2003 they should try XP, which truelly works.

To find the necessary patches is very time consuming

Hi Peter,

Thanks for trying the script. I realise I haven't written enough "checks" into the script as yet.

I get this error if the DPs base file hasn't been provided along with the .7z mass storage file. The current versions currently are: DPs_BASE_7052.exe and DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_7121.7z.

But if you've provided both files already, then the issue is something else and I'll have to look further.

Thanks,
Galapo.

So it's possible to have O&O Bluecon Script to use as an option to VistaPe 11 Multiboot?
The BlueCon was and still remain a fair console with some additional commands built in like undelete and Sam pw reset. And also its text predictive with tab... Any chance to get it working ??

Peter, are you still receiving the error?

I just uploaded a new version which double-ckecks that the two files have been supplied.

Are you using 2k3? Perhaps it's this line which is a problem. I think from memory you changed something similar in BootSDI recently?
ShellExecute,hide,"cmd.exe","/c (dir #$q%pFileBox1%#$q /b) >> #$q%ProjectTemp%\DriverPacks_Listing.ini#$q"

Thanks,
Galapo.

OK, I uploaded another new version. The script line given above now has the brackets removed.

Hopefully this works for you now, Peter.

Galapo.

Hi Peter,

Just a quich question: what OS are you attempting to run this under? Perhaps there's an issue with my AutoIt file and perhaps I need to compile it with a newer version?

Thanks,
Galapo.

My host has XP SP2 German (with 'automatic' update by Bill G.).
BTW: Test source is also usually XP SP2 German.

Finally the W2003 issue is solved!

The RecoveryConsole now can also be built from W2003 source.

The link in the first post is updated.

It is included in the project!

You may use it, if you want.

but none is using OOBC? why?

For me, the reason is simply economical: I am unable to afford the purchase price of the software! Mind you, I wouldn't mind using it at times, buy I would not be able to justify to my wife the spenditure.

Galapo.

Yes. Download my script from here: http://galapo.boot-l...eDrivers.script to the 'drivers' folder of the project. Download the two relevant DriverPacks files (the base and the mass storage pack) and either point the script to them or copy them to '%GlobalTemplates%\DPs\MassStorage', which is generally '%BaseDir%\Workbench\Common\DPs\MassStorage'.

Galapo.

I added the third console to the project:
The TinyKRNL console.
BSOR.gif
As with the other consoles, everything is taken from source CD. Only URTL\Native.exe is added as smss.exe.

As to be seen: Because built with German source CD , some info is in German, too.
TinyKRNL.gif

The new script is available in the nativeEx_BSOR download on the nativeex.boot-land.net server.

If you compare the ISO with that from WinRoot: This one is about 2 MB bigger.
The reason is that I include all HAL??.DLLs and much more drivers, to allow boot also on unusual HW.

Peter
