What is your OS Drive Letter ?

If OS is drive C: then:

Does file resmon.exe file exist in C:\Windows\System32  ?

Does file resmon.exe file exist in C:\Windows\SysWOW64  ?

It did work for you in VHD_WIMBOOT version with Resources Button ?

Did you make changes in the command environment variables ?

When you double-click on File C:\Windows\System32\resmon.exe then What occurs ?

I guess you modified your OS such that resmon.exe does not work anymore .....

Strange  :wacko: The code to Run resmon.exe is the same in VHD_WIMBOOT and System_Info programs.

What about the other 31 Buttons, are they working OK for you in System_Info program ?

Here Resource Monitor is working OK for 10 / 11 x64 Full and Mini Windows OS.

some of the list buttons are not working, namely those that cannot be pointed to anything. I think they are supposed to be oriented somewhere in the drive.

as for resmon.exe, it also works the way I told alacrán yesterday, from the task manager in the memory section.

Which List button precisely does not work for you ?

In case of Folder List and File List then a FileSelector is presented where you can select a folder e.g. C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository

The List of Folders Or Files is created in folder sys_info and presented in Notepad

ah ok so it does work for any filelist or folderlist u wish. because, in the end, this is only a visualizer, it does nothing, it just shows what one asks it to.

Update Win_Reduce_Trusted-46

Download:  from wimb GitHub  -  Win_Reduce_Trusted-46

Download File E = Encrypted PassWord = bootwimb

Download:  Win11 ISO from Microsoft  -  Win11_Language_x64.iso  5 GB

Manual:   VHD_WIMBOOT.pdf

- Reduction of number of Hard Links and number of files related to WindowsApps (the Microsoft Bing bloat Apps etc)

- Removal of \Windows\servicing\Packages saves about 2420 lines in FileList - Hard Links with \Windows\System32\CatRoot\{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE}

- Partly removal of \ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\AppRepository according to remove_ProgramData_App_folders.txt and remove_ProgramData_App_files.txt in folder File_List

- These measures result in 2500 less Hard Links and about 3800 less items in FileList and about 200 MB reduction in UsedSize for Mini-10x64 and Mini-11-x64 VHD

See also discussion in System_Info thread here

Removed:

\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ink
\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation
\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ink
;
; x86 ink is required for Office 2003 - Not used anymore
;
\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation
\ProgramData\NVIDIA
; \ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\AppRepository - cannot be removed completely
;
\Windows\servicing\Packages
; Hard Link with \Windows\System32\CatRoot\{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE} - cannot be removed

The nwinfo App of a1ive using Button HW Info gives info on your hardware and not about Hard Links.

I would like to know if version 46 is working OK for you.

Also can you give the reduction in the number of files in Multi_HL_XXX.txt and the reduction in Total number of Files in your Mini-10 or Mini-11 VHD

as compared to Multi Hard Link files and Total number of files as found for previous version.

You can just use the Hard Link List Button and select the Mounted VHD drive.

dear wimb,

tonite you will have:

1) the answer whether this version is working for me

2) what u want of the files and folders u can assume from the picture I have attached

3) what u have just asked, provided I knew how to obtain it (my mini10 and mini11)

ps.: my pictures shows text files where I do see hardlinks; does that help?

my dear wimb, everything works here, with a 200-meg-smaller vhd file. now u want the number of hard links detected, and I think I now know what files u want. I will do the same thing (hard link list) on both the old and the new mounted vhds. so, in a bit.

Thanks for testing latest version 4.6 of Win_Reduce_Trusted.

Happy to know that everything is working for you.

I see that you keep Microsoft.NET and assembly for some reason.

At the moment I don't need more results.

of course I do, and for the same software as I mentioned months ago. I want universal minimalism - doing now, with as little as possible, everything I used to do with "full system". and let us not forget that everything works because I copy manifests and the root files in syswow64 back to the system after running windreducetrusted (at least, this is what I know, but if any of u's know better, pls tell me). I insist on this scenario for everyday use - to me this is the system now, and consider that I have never done without cosmetics (e.g. shiny crisp pics on a desktop slideshow). to give u a clue, I can just tell u that I even prefer this system's aesthetics to ..  macos aesthetics, which I find poor in comparison! the only unwanted exception is my wife's Iphone, which can be operationally accessed only thru unreduced windows (initial install, I mean, maybe because I have not yet learned what to avoid taking  out in order for the iphone to be accessed even in this reduced scenario). I wish any of u's could me which files to leave on the system.

back to last reduction, I have seen a greater gain in space (still in the order of a few hundred megs, though) than in hard link number. I wonder whether other things can be safely removed from, say, systemapps or the like, for instance. in this light, consider that ur sysinfo panel (along with a few cmd's and reg's we can find here and there on the web) has made the win10 and win11 new settings panel practically superfluous, so who gives a "sugar" if it cannot be opened anymore?

My dear Wimb, I think I am a specialist in putting a foot on my mouth. Only now have I seen that u posted some files and folders (possibly to delete on a trial and error basis) in a two separate files (remove_programdata_xxx.txt). so, now that I have taken ur tips to the full up to now, I tested the two vhd's for multi HLs again. here are the new files, before and after the reduction:

@antonino

What is the UsedSize of the OS in your Mini VHD ?

What do you use as Internet Browser for your Mini VHD ?

What is the total number of files in File_List_I.txt

Can you give File_List_I.txt and Hard_Link_Drive_I_2021-13-11.txt ?
