I wonder, if direct ISO links for components are available, and will work with HTTPDisk...

Even, Imagex.exe is found in "Windows Kits8.0Assessment and Deployment KitDeployment Tools*DISM". Where * put amd64 or x86Interesting is, at quick look ADK docs don't seem to mention ImageX. Instead, updated DISM is slotted as primary imaging and deployment tool.
Is there a way to know what drivers does this WinPE include?

ImageX 64-bit for Win7 that comes with WAIK 3.0 has file version: 6.1.7600.16385 of 7/14/2009, size 567 Kb
ImageX 64-bit for Win8 CP that comes at the moment with ADK Deployment Tools has file version: 6.2.8520.0 of 2/17/1012, size 695 Kb
ADK installation is fast and easy, if you select only Deployment Package, which is really small, and contains ImageX and DISM for both 32-and-64 bit Win8 CP.

Found on the web that new ImageX and DISM from WAIK 3.5 (Windows 8) are provided in Tools folder of a mounted Boot.wim from Windows 8 Developer Preview ISO, which can be accessed via HTTPDisk (if you know the direct download link).
Direct download links for Windows 8 Customer Preview

Win8 CP doesn't contain ImageX.
I wonder, if GImageX can be adapted easily to work with new ImageX... Don't see published or included standalone docs for new ImageX either. Any new commands?
Whats up with "DISM"?

The api includes these flags:
#define WIM_FLAG_MOUNT_FAST 0x00000400
#define WIM_FLAG_MOUNT_LEGACY 0x00000800
Dism command line options:
http://technet.micro...y/hh825258.aspx
See new /Optimize option ( same option is available on imagex ). I would suspect when building a pe its going to make no difference.

DISM GUI is the nice add on too. Not sure, if the author just plans to update it to new DISM though, but the link is appreciated.

"I’ve just started working on version 4 of DISM GUI and honestly I don’t know what features of DISM to add." I wonder, if it will be a good idea to open a new Reboot thread on DISM GUI and invite the author to participate? He would certainly get valuable feedback here...

so where did this ever end up? I have in the past used the win7 PE project with imagex and the Gimagex GUI to do one to one captures without sys prep. I now have my first Win8 tablet and need to be able to do the same. I was already looking at the new project so what do I need to get this working again? Does Gimagex work with the new imagex??
