SORRY!

Everything reverse!

I thought that I found the "German" issue, but when going into the debugger, I found that I mixed the two logs on the one page ;)

So: Issue currently still open.

But allow me my IMHO:

When two different apps, namely
  • Billy the Door's imagex.exe
  • My WimInfo.exe
have troubles with boot.wim, the error message about troubles with the source CD is propably very correct.

And to explain the "access violation":
This is a WB bug at the end of an exception handling (which IMO disappeared in the current, unpublished alpha), after a fatal error occurred.
But it is NOT the reason that the build aborts. The abort is initiated by the fatal error.

Thank you too! :)
It gives me the satisfaction that my idea to "Heal the illness, rather than trying to heal the symptoms of the illness" is ok.

Unfortunatelly several project / script authors do not accept that. They prefer a "quick and dirty" solution which in the first view seems to work well.

BTW: I many times also write "quick and dirty" solutions workarounds. But then I try to find the acceptable solution.

Note that the new version of ManageWimEx script does not solve all problems:

Hi,
where can i download the nativeEx_Win7 project files?

Thank you

Sebastian

Unfortunatelly the 'old' server (which has been the same as the server for Joshua's Win7RescuePE) is not more available.

As a temporary solution, I uploaded to nativeex.boot-land.net.

That may be changed after Joshua uploaded his project.

Thank you for uploading the project. I hope a permanent solution becomes available for Win7RescuePE. If not, I hope NativeExWin7 remains updated and available.

Your post is very cryptic for me.

(As told several times before: "My magic crystal ball is out of order") I need some more information.

I dot understand "Win XP"

I think that the situation is history-dependent (maybe an aborted build) and we have to examine the directory (-ies) where your wim is mounted.
We have to make tests, step by step, to find the reason for the lock.

If you have difficulties to explain in English (I also have often difficulties to understand), post in the International support > German forum.

I'm rather sure that there a couple of members with more practical Win7 experience than I have, can help.
(@patsch, what about you? )

ok, I have made some tests ...

1.) host os
- win7 professional 64bit german
- win7 professional 32bit german
(both on the same machine, UAC at minimum level, no antivirus software active)

2.) sources (all in directories on second partition of my system disk, e.g. "sources\win732bproger")
- win7 professional 32bit german (MSDNAA-version)
- win7 ultimate 32bit german
- win7 enterprise 32bit german trial (direct from MS-Server)

3.) winbuilder and project related
- winbuilder 080 : http://winbuilder.ne...oad.php?view.51 (winbuilder working directory in root of second partition of my system disk "wbtest")
- win7rescuepe from here : http://nativeex.boot...uePE_Upload.zip
- nativeEx from nativeEx server (recommended download)

4.) modifications / settings / results
a.) win7rescuepe
- point to waik and source and then "get Info"
- deselected all apps
=> 6 builds, all with no error
=> all 6 images mounted in virtualbox (3.1.6) without problems
b.) nativeEx_win7
- point to source and then "get Info"
- deselected all apps
=> 6 builds, all with no error
=> all 6 images mounted in virtualbox (3.1.6) without problems
=> in qemu it starts fine but during shutdown I got a BSOD in qemu with "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL", but I think this does not matter because it is during shutdown

Edit..::
all 6 builds (nativeEx_win7) copied to usb stick and then booted from stick in my laptop without problems

Hi Peter,
sorry for my confusing information.

#WinXPSP3 - Winbuilder80
Now have your instructions in Post 8 made all things new - and it does everything.
(& # Entry95317 http://www.boot-land...?...=0&p=95317)
When booting from the stick, I still get the message:
Stop: c0000135 The program can not start because% hs is missing

Then I added the app's.
Sole Error: Create
IrfanView_MaineCoon.script
If I switch the language to German I get the message "No Internet Connection" even though I'm online.

One last question.
could I once saw a script where you can add portable programs with path and shortcut - can only find it no longer exist.

However, I get variations in both the blue screen with stop: C0000 ...

I hope that this time my information is somewhat accurate.

Greetings Klaus

I cannot reproduce that error ... from my above test configuration I only selected IrfanView and changed laguage to german ... I have no error during build :/

you can use this script: http://www.boot-land...?...ost&p=95456 (works also for nativeEx_win7 not only for win7rescuepe)

I also switched from standard to plugins ... no problem. All Links in the script are ok.
Do you have a firewall active that blocks winbuilder or wget?

for log files or images:
use a freehoster like rapidshare to add images or full logs if your quota here (1MB) is full ... it is much easier for us than posting parts of the log here

there is a description and an example in that thread for papps ...
http://www.boot-land...?...ost&p=94903

1.) make a directory in your BaseDir (for me now in this example papps)
2.) copy all needed portable apps in that directory

example and extended description:

concerning IrfanView:
please check, if WebGet is blocked by a firewall ... do you use a proxy?

concerning your log file:
- please use a directory name without spaces
- is j:\ a fixed hard drive in your system?
- please use a folder without special characters as source folder (e.g. source)

The Blue Screen Problem is fixed:

NTFS formatet:
Stop: c0000135 The program can not start because% hs is missing

FAT32 -> no blue Screen

IrfanView:
Eset Firewall blockt Wget - Thanks.

papps:
the thumbnail is too smal
5.) name of exe
after playing (red Button) the field is empty

8.) label in start menu
can you give me an Example ??

For the source i will make a short Dir.

I have got a new Problem:
After starting Windows i have got a DOS Box with fixShortcut.exe

Kein Datenträger
DEVICE\Harddisk3\DR3
DEVICE\Harddisk3\DR4
DEVICE\Harddisk3\DR5
DEVICE\Harddisk3\DR6

with Cancel Repeat Next
I know the error message from an old 16bit program

Do you now something about it ??

Thanks Klaus

sorry, I forgot that the attachement system is down atm (see here: http://www.boot-land...howtopic=11183)

Here an example:
- my winbuilder directory for the above tests is:
d:\wbtest\

- in that directory I placed a new directory papps for all my portable apps
d:\wbtest\papps\
this directory has to be in 1.) in the script

- as an example I take the program Stinger
2.) checked , because I want to add it to the build
3.) the name of the program is Stinger (this is also the name of the shortcut in the start menu or the desktop)
4.) the exe of the program can be found in the program dir stinger ... that means :
d:\wbtest\papps\stinger\
5.) the name of the exe is stinger.exe , that means
d:\wbtest\papps\stinger\stinger.exe
6.) + 7.) shortcuts
8.) Label in Startmenu means that this is the folder in the start menu where to find the program. If you set here e.g. Stinger you will have a folder Stinger under all programs in the start menu ... you can also set it to System/Stinger : then you have a folder Stinger in the folder System in the start menu

I hope, this is clear now. If not, please ask again

btw what red button?

concerning your new problem: sorry, I have no hint for that

It runs everything - thanks again for the help and patience.
Now I have some questions about the fine tuning.
1. Is there a way to display the Computer(Arbeitsplatz) on the Display?
2. How do I get integrates the German keyboard.
3. Can I use a different background image.
4. I've still the old problem:

After starting Windows i have got a DOS box with fixShortcut.exe
No media
DEVICE \ Harddisk3 \ DR3
DEVICE \ Harddisk3 \ DR4
DEVICE \ Harddisk3 \ DR5
DEVICE \ Harddisk3 \ DR6
Repeat with Cancel Next
I know the error message from an old 16bit program

5. Where can I find a Script for the ERD Commander 6.5 ?
Thanks Klaus

1. Is there a way to display the Computer(Arbeitsplatz) on the Display?

look into: Tweaks->Explorer Tweaks ...

2. How do I get integrates the German keyboard.

I set system locale to german (in the configuration script), that's my only change and I have german keyboard

3. Can I use a different background image.

there are several solutions I think ... I remember that I read some posts about it in the win7rescuepe-thread because the wallpaper script in the tweaks section afair only works for bsexplorer as shell
