Sure it is possible.

Will it work (in the sense of actually booting and be able to install XP? :)
NO. :)

If you want to actually use an XP "install" .iso in a multiboot device, you need much more than a "plain" XP .iso added to Sardu.

Find here some info:
http://www.msfn.org/...p?showforum=157
http://www.msfn.org/...howtopic=137714

You need anyway to modify the .iso (or use a "F6" floppy) adding a ramdisk/filedisk driver , which, since Sardu uses Syslinux should be WinVblock:
http://www.boot-land...?showtopic=8168

This approach (Syslinux+WinVblock) is AFAIK totally UNexplored :D, as opposed to the grub4dos+firadisk one, which is documented and also used in WinSetupfromUSB "beta" versions:
http://www.msfn.org/...howtopic=120444
http://www.msfn.org/...howtopic=139737

If you want some advice, and unless you are going to invest some time (actually lots of time) in "translating" known and documented grub4dos+firadisk based techniques to "new" syslinux+WinVblock ones, you should think about (choose one):
  • use the Syslinux based Sardu build as a "child" of the grub4dos based WinSetupFromUSB with GUI
  • use the grub4dos based WinSetupFromUSB with GUI as a "child" of the Syslinux based Sardu build

(syslinux can be chainloaded by grub4dos and grub4dos can be chainloaded form syslinux quite easily)

:D

seems a hardtask.

Rest assured it is relatively hard, though NOT *impossible*, and NOT even *very* hard.

We have two "technologies", each working on it's own :D that need to be "merged", which is not particularly difficult but needs some dedication and time for experiments.
Developing a "Sardu way" to install XP from a .iso, though as well possible, requires much more work, as I see it.

any easy tutorial with pics?

NO. :)

Sure :) it would also be wondeful if we get peace all over the world and find a way to have perpetual motion, but it won't happen if someone actually interested in these doesn't actually try doing something in the right direction... :D

Unfortunately "difficult" things cannot be explained in "easy" tutorials (with or without pics).

Sure ;), it's called "easy" boot, not "hard" boot.
;)

BTW, I also doubt the "went fine", did you actually continued after the firrst or second blue Setup screen and actually INSTALLED XP ? ;)

I really don't get this kind of approach :hyper: , which seems like recurring very often lately, the exact opposite of the "common sense advice":
http://www.boot-land...?showtopic=9101

Someone asks a question, someone else provides an answer, OP does another thing (which is allright, of course, freedom is first priority :)), and then, since the "other" thing doesn't work, comes back whining it didn't work. :w00t:

You want to use Easyboot?
That's allright :w00t: , but then please go to the ezbsystem forum whining about their app not working for you:

nope :)

If I were you, I would try it, as (often :hyper:) happens I may be wrong, but I strongly suspect that you are now thinking that you have:
  • a working XP ISO
  • a non-working SARDU

whilst what you really have is :w00t:
  • a non-working XP ISO
  • a non-working SARDU

:)

Sure it is possible.

NO. ;)

If you want we can put it in another way ;).

Do you really think that a number of people - some of which actually really advanced users and programmers - used several MONTHS of their time to be able to provide a working solution if all that was need was to chainload a .iso? ;)
