If QEMU does not give that message then your BIOS has a common bug and can probably only access 137GB of any USB device that you boot from.

Very strange that WinContig says not enough free space and  Auslogic also says the same thing??

Yes auslogic and Wincontig both say not enough free continouus blocks on the device. But my Stick 128GB, that is less than 137GB, right?

I also first boot hirens boot cd, that works like a charm...

The 137GB limit only applies to the BIOS, once you boot to Windows/linux then the 137GB limit does not apply.

Grub4dos uses the BIOS and so that will see a 137GB limit when accessing ISOs on the USB drive and initial boots stages of Windows/linux use the BIOS too,.

So the only mystery is that you have 128GB USB flash drive containing a single 119.3GB partition NTFS partition with 4K clusters and 88GB of free space and WinContig cannot make 12 files on it contiguous.

Did you try running WinContig on a single file  (SHIFT+F2 in RMPrepUSB) e.g. G:\_ISO\WINDOWS\WIN7\w7recoverx86.iso

How did you copy over the files to get is so fragmented? Did you have multiple Explorer copy sessions running at the same time?

How did you partition the USB drive?

Did you check the USB drive size first (RMPrepUSB Quick Size Test - destroys contents) - or if you don't want to do that, can you verify the MD5 checksum of the first ISO you copied on and the last ISO you copied on? i.e. maybe the 128GB pen is not actually 128GB (a 'fake' pendrive)?

I've never heard of a company, that makes the stick with bigger sizes, than theyre named, usually its the other way around.

But i once read about a tool, that was designed for the purpose of checking the real size of a stick. do you know it's name?

the option to only defragment one file in wincontig is greyed out.

i partitioned the drive with prepusb like you mentionen in the tutorial.

NTFS / Max. size of the partition / WinPE2 / boot as hdd / grub4dos is only on the mbr installed.

could it be, that my grldr is too old?

i also copied /hbcd to the root of my stick and first boot hbcds menu.lst, that then loads the e2b menufile.

i dont remember which .isos i copied first ans last and i dont want to wipe my whole stick to verify its size. is there any other way?

i think i copied over the files with multiple explorer-windows, yes. thats not how its supposed to be done, eh?

If you use multiple explorer windows you will get fragmented files.

You can try running H2TESTW  (link is in RMPrepUSB - Help page) - this will only fill the unused areas of your drive (but will take hours!)

Strange! Your USB drive must be 16GB (15.445GB)?

Is there a BIOS update for your system? What system is it?

Did you format using RMprepUSB  'Boot as HDD 2PTNS' option?   FAT32 or NTFS?

Can you try another computer?

Any BIOS options on the Lenovo for USB booting?

@Panther999 is the Lenovo a new pc (i3,i5,i7)

IF it is then you may be blocked by efi/uefi/secure Booting, Disable it(google how to do it on your model)

I found This when i had to Run My Win7_PE from USB,grub4dos

Else Try to make a PLoP Disk

I haven't tried installing - so just putting the ISO in MAINMENU doesn't work then?

Yes Uefi Boot is enabled. But Legacy Boot in the first place.

With Plop Bootmanager works it now.

How did you run plop to get it to load E2B?

plop is a readonly driver so some E2B features won't work (e.g. partnew command that is used with linux ISOs).

Maybe there is something I could add to E2B to load plop as a fallback?

Load Plop before on other USB Drive.

Have E2B now to USB HDD.

If it were possible to load Plop via E2B?

Sorry for my bad english! :dubbio:

LOL, I think this is how WW1 started....

To early happy. The iso's start not.

Ideas?

Try to use a USB flashdrive only,Not a External USB HDD, Your Lanovo may not support it properly

You could also try a BIOS update For the System

More Ideas I HAVE not
