Thanks for the pointer, and info on grub4dos...Would be really great if this was an option so we could be the same on CDFS as well as USB Flash (FAT/NTFS/etc...)

I don' think you can have it unless you recompile the grub4dos filesystem driver for CDFS.

Yes, this sort of hijacked this thread...But, if I add to the PEFactory another ISO file script, and unpack it, I might have case issues with grub4dos on a CDFS that I do not have on a Flash drive...

Sorry for hijack, and will start new thread if we want to discuss this more (w.r.t. grub4dos and/or syslinux)

I understood. Wait for the new topic.
As soon as the "problem" is known, it is solvable.

Hi Peter,
can give a help again to import (I place myself in probably too stupid).
The scripts are in the "New" - >% BaseDir% New
-> ExternalApps is without effect
ClassicShell and BGInfo and will not be displayed

How you have made the icon in the "Show Desktop" (bottom right) ??

I can reproduce your issue.

But that's not a question of the multiPE project. That's a question how WinBuilder works with links.

I'll try to find it in the debugger.

The "Show Desktop" icon: No idea, but I'll try to find how it can he shown / hidden.

Hi Peter,
thanks for your quick answer.
I just wanted to say to you again a great compliment to your project it runs wonderfully.
Do you have an idea how I can fix the old (Error with mounting source! (Install.wim) Error.
When I try to work with any other project I get the mounting error.
Do you have any ideas ??

First back to the External Apps issue:

I found it. Two reasons:
  • The links are designed to ONLY work to really buildable projects, or bartPE plugins.
  • Additionally there is a bug in WinBuilder which does not link to files directly under ....Apps. It only links to files under ....Apps<blabla>
To add your test scripts: Easiest way will be to copy them into the multiPE tree structure. When you see two Apps directories in WinBuilder, adjust the level in [main]

Now the mount error:
I made my project in the way that everything (? hopefully) works well.
I do not know the internal functionality of different authors, and I do not want to debug "third party" projects.

Sorry that I cannot help you with this question.

Hi Peter,
I copied the two scripts to core appssystem and provided with Level 3 but they are still not working. Can you test if tehey are in your system working ??
Found two little bugs -
1-wallpaper.script if you chose "use current desktop wallpaper" - ImageConvertx86.exe not found - version 4 is working
(1-wallpaper.script) WebGet - [http://www.opera.com.../ouw854_de.lng] to directory: [%BaseDir%ProjectsmultiPECore AppsNetOpera_Langouw854_de.lng] HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found

(HookAPIEx.Script) Cannot create file "%BaseDir%TempmultiPE_Win7easyShortcutParse.exe". Der Prozess kann nicht auf die Datei zugreifen, da sie von einem anderen Prozess verwendet wird: [ExtractFile,"%easyApiScript%","Folder","easyShortcutParse.exe",%ProjectTemp%]

Hi,

I will be testing multiPE and then let you know the results from my testing. I am using a Windows 7 x86 SP1 Professional edition ISO image.

Looking forward to see qemu being used as default, I'm trying out version 0.13 from http://homepage3.nif...takeda-toshiya/ and it works good with Windows 7.

Have a new trial with a clean version and get started right at the beginning of an error message.

2-ImageIndex.script) FileCopy - Failed to copy [% BaseDir% \ Workbench \ multiPE_Win7 \ StoredWims \ UlR2I5de0617601 \ Windows \ System32 \ bcdedit.exe] to: [% BaseDir% \ Projects \ Tools \ nativeEx \ bcdedit.exe]: the system can not find the path specified.
[Failed] (HookAPIEx.Script) DirDelete - Failed to delete directory [% BaseDir% \ Target \ multiPE_Win7]: A file can not be created if it already exists

Currently works only well with me any more?

regards Klaus

Hi Peter,

I am also having troubles on "2-ImageIndex.script", here is the log: https://docs.google....jUxNDUyNmI2YzRi

I used a Windows 7 Professional x86 SP1 unmodified image that can be downloaded directly from Digital River at http://msft.digitalr...n/X17-24280.iso

The project is running on a NTFS partition (F:) from a Windows 7 Ultimate x86 machine.

---------------

While testing found a typo in InfSupport script: "thsis".

Also, it would make life simpler for new users if winbuilder.exe is included inside the project.

Thanks for your current tests, Nuno.

The "SP1" mount issue became visible last days. I'm currently changing the project, that a win7sp1 is not mounted, only extracted.

I'll include WinBuilder in the project.

Hi Peter, thanks for the new version.
Unfortunately, getting the old message:
C: multip target multiPE_Win7 could not be deleted!

"(2-ImageIndex.script) FileCopy - Failed to copy [% BaseDir% Workbench multiPE_Win7 StoredWims UlR2I5de0617601 Windows System32 bcdedit.exe] to: [% BaseDir% Projects Tools nativeEx bcdedit.exe ]: The system can not find the path specified.
[Failed] (HookAPIEx.Script) DirDelete - Failed to delete directory [% BaseDir% Target multiPE_Win7]: A file can not be created if it already exists "

have you any idea what it could be?

Try with regedit, whether there is an old registry fragment mounted.

I did a build into an empty directory, and it worked.

To have any idea is very difficult without a log.

My magic crystal ball is currently out of order.

Unfortunately, only with an ISO of 34k.

For now I give up!

Your log shows that "NOTHING WORKS" in your installation.

Do you have a chance to try on a different PC?

And the Please, Please, Please: Do EXACTLY what is described in the "Online Help" link in the project entry GUI.

Addon:

(0-SystemCheck.script) Invalid parameter count: [Set,%CanUseImageX%,nil,PERMANEMT]

You have a "first seconds" upload, which I replaced after some minutes (Should be PERMANENT)

Just a hint: WinBuilder has a "Download" option, and there you can check, whether there is a newer version of a script (and download when you want ...)

Projects are developed dynamically, depending on requests and error reports. But projects cannot automatically send the latest versions to all users. Here the users have to cooperate and check for actually fixed items.

Hi Peter,
I dare not write more slowly and you go with my non-functioning version on my nerves.
With your new version I have, unfortunately, the same old message:
D:\multiPE_12 \ target \ multiPE_Win7 not be deleted.

Thanks for the log!
There has still been a bug in working with win7 sp1 source code. :frusty:
I fixed and made new upload.

The "Cannot delete target" issue:

Please have a look in the WinBuilder documentation http://code.google.c.../wiki/dirdelete

Maybe the is such a ~<???>.tmp file in your PC left. Delete it.

If that does not help, try to change in multiPE > Tools > HookApiEx.Script [Target_Delete]

DirDelete,#1,Fast

to

DirDelete,#1

If the issue is gone then, we have to find some :wodoo: on your system.

If it still exists: Open your window, and throw your PC to the outer world :pulpfiction:

Peter

BTW: Are your troubles in win7pe_se solved vow?

Edited by sbaeder, 08 November 2011 - 05:06 PM.
changed to throw (was through)...:) Hope pscEx is OK with that

Hi Peter,
new Version, new Source, new attempt.
(2-ImageIndex.script) FileCopy - Failed to copy [%BaseDir%\Workbench\multiPE_Win7\StoredWims\PrR2I5de0617601\Windows\System32\bcdedit.exe] to: [%BaseDir%\Projects\Tools\nativeEx\bcdedit.exe]: Das System kann den angegebenen Pfad nicht finden.
In the StoredWims Dir is just one file "multiPE" with 0 byte.

Sorry, I just saw that I wrote German. Google helps:

If this is the first build in an empty directory:

Where does the flag-file "multiPE"?

It will not be generated until ImageX / Apply has run already. And then the directory should be full.

Demolished ImageX?

I refine the query, that such mishaps do not happen anymore.
