Like what? There's SAN-booting with iSCSI or AoE. gPXE supports several protocols, including FTP. I don't really understand your question. You were successful in grabbing files via HTTP, which means you used your "http file server," doesn't it?Is there any other solution grabbing the files via http then using http file server?

The experimental memdisk.c32 Syslinux COMBOOT32 module worked for me on a couple of tests. You could download it and give it a try, but don't use it to override whatever your boot device is. For example, it's safe to memdisk.c32 a floppy disk image if you're booted from Syslinux on an HDD partition and vice versa.
