But the utility MSSTmake.exe in it will not be used since it is not intended for processing inf files of drivers for х64 systems.

Hmm, I'm using MSSTmake for text mode integration in XP x64 source and it's working nice.
It's there any thing I should care about when using MSSTmake for x64 integration?

In my plans to make a universal script for integration MassStorage drivers for х86 and х64 LixeXP
But the utility MSSTmake.exe in it will not be used since it is not intended for processing inf files of drivers for х64 systems.

I am sorry for disinformation

I as always confuse HostOS and SourceOS. MSSTmake.exe supports processing inf files for WinXP and Win2k3 x64, But does not work on x64 systems without wow64.
Therefore I do not see obstacles for inclusion in a script support LiveXP x64

@JFX Thanks for the help.

Sound good

Hope we can collect enough x64 massstorage drivers.

script's links working
file links not working, this is not big deal because files already available inside scripts,
checking why file links not working by following homepage link at post 1, new version available (136) and new version links are working.

Hi olegpov,

I like your MSST script but have not been able to get working, post 11, versions :whistling: . Specifically, the 'Select Drivers' option (main reason to upgrade from v.11); in this case (15a), I get stuck at 'Start Process Build...' (give up after few minutes). I can't get any log info, the whole process just crashes and my XP SP2 system seems slow/unresponsive for a few minutes. I know this is vague but any ideas? I've tested with wb76, 77rc2 and now 78sp6.

Another clue? Doing nothing else but attempting to run 'Select Drivers' in (otherwise un-run) project, produces this message when attempting to delete the folder:
toolong.jpg

Hi amalux,
You have found a small bug in the script. :ranting2: This is my shortcoming that I fixed in version 15b (coming soon)
The error occurs because this parameter:
Use_only_custom_dir.jpg is not specified
when given this option:
Add_Drivers_from_Custom_Dir.jpg
You can use the following settings:
recommendations.jpg
DPs-MassStorageDrivers_Greg_B_Current_Bin.script this is what you specify in your settings

This error:

Another clue? Doing nothing else but attempting to run 'Select Drivers' in (otherwise un-run) project, produces this message when attempting to delete the folder:
toolong.jpg

I can not emulate in my system, this error may occur because the same bug
Try to use a script with my settings and report this error will occur or not. :ranting2:

Thanks olegpov :ranting2:

Both issues go away if I use _bin.script with your settings :whistling:

Hi amalux,
Try this script: DPs-MassStorageDrivers_MSST.script
I can not update on olegpov.winbuilder.net not remember my password (I am not at home and without my USB-HDD :whistling: )
If no error is, I will update the script in the next 2 days.:ranting2:

OK, that got rid of the issue and allows me to open the 'Select Drivers' dialogue :whistling: , however, changes made in the list are not saved between runs even though 'Save State' is selected. I assume this is another glitch (sorry) if 'normal' it's quite confusing.

It is normal
  • if you use an option:rebuild.jpg
  • Or you choose other packages of drivers
  • Or choose another OS

Ahhhh, I understand, that makes sense and it's working as expected :whistling:

Thanks for the explanation olegpov and for the great script!

This is just par for the course when a tool writes a path that is fairly long and you go to delete it (which really just moves it to the recycle bin (which can have a longer name than you had originally)...

I get this when trying to delete the cache in the Native_Win7EX project. Just use the gui to "move" some of the lowest level file/folders up several levels (which creates a shorter name).

will it be easy for you to attach a copy of the update here too , the forums is asking me to register there to copy that tool .
also , i have another question , can your tool be used in following scenario ?

1. suppose i want to make a RAMXP .
2. i want to use it on multiple computers.
3. is it possible , that i first INJECT the mass storage drivers into the current installation of XP ,.and then make image of it . and can boot that image on other computers as well ?

MSSTMake.exe create only CRITICAL.INF(drivers have settings only for system load ) file Which is intended for integration drivers at SysPrep use, but not for use on full forking system.

In your case it is necessary to install all necessary drivers whith full settings.
Try this installer in RAMXP :MassStor_x86_10.3.25.rar, But it contains only the most known drivers

Seems like exactly the same error you're getting with my DPs-Build_MassStorageDrivers script where the generated file isn't being found.

There's something crazy going on in your build environment.

Regards,
Galapo.

The error looked familiar, so I checked my notes and found I got the same error with newer versions of the script (which is why I didn't update it in my builds). Try this older version here:Attached File  DPs_Drivers_MSST11x.zip   54.61KB   348 downloads

Put your loose drivers folders in "\Workbench\Common\DPs\Custom_UnPacked" (%GlobalTemplates\DPs\Custom_UnPacked) and leave it setup as is:
msst.png

See what happens :)
