With last info from DaveXP

i changed the script, now script is FOR LiveXP

http://lancelot.winb..._Manager_2x.rar

For future developments of VistaPE-LiveXP compatibility, instead of download section, i made filedelete and filerename after files are copied to target. Also i keep/add vistape lines refering to ctmag lines but comitted out with // to help future development.

As i dont know (or make trials) with vistape, i guess ctmag or maybe amalux can make the script work both with livexp and vistape.

ps: if previous script used before, please delete
.\EASEUS_Partition_Manager_2x_Files\{app}
.\EASEUS_Partition_Manager_2x_Files\{win}
folders before using this one.

Why are all the lines commented out in the section [Processrun]
following the line 'If,NOTEXISTVAR,%ForceAllToRam%,Begin' till the line 'end'
in the attached script above?

Sad to hear paragon 8 dont work with vistape
at least livexp users dont need serial :confused1:
**********sorry, yes link in interface is broken. My mistake, i checked link in script to download.***********

Here is what i do to script:

uncomment out livexp lines
also
added 2 lines
If,%pCheckBox5%,Equal,True,Set,%TmpFolder%,"%ScriptDir%\EASEUS_Partition_Manager_2x_Files"
pCheckBox5="Set %TmpFolder% to %ScriptDir%\EASEUS_Partition_Manager_2x_Files",1,3,28,242,270,30,True
and change the location of
RunFromRam,%pCheckBox4%

I hope you like the changes ctmag

just for the records: paragon does not work in vistape (tells me unknown windows version and exits)

For the record, Paragon Partition Manager 8 and Paragon Partition Manager 9 work fine in VistaPE; I've used them many times under production conditions on real physical disks. I've never tried Paragon Hard Disk Manager or Drive Backup.

I tried Easus when I first heard of it. I forget how I tested it, but I easily found a scenario in which Easus required a reboot and Paragon Partition Manager did not. The reboot obviously is not going to work in VistaPE. So I have to say that Paragon Partition Manager is objectively better than Easus for this kind of work. Of course, Easus is free.

Paragon Partition Manager 9.script.

Paragon Partition manager and Paragon Harddisk manager are different, sorry my fault, i wrote only Paragon manager.
the script in livexp project is Paragon Harddisk manager 8.0

For win environment my favorite part utility is Paragon Partition Manager 8.5 Server (not free)
it works with vista, 2k3, xp (+x64) (at least i tested with them) (works nicely with livexp, i use bart plugin for 7.5 from http://www.anwald.com/ for 8.5)
and it is small (setup.exe=24mb)
i hope similar but free partition utility will be better for all.

edit:
paragon partition manager 8.5 should work with JonF's Paragon Partition Manager 9.script. too

I'm not sure how to "trick" the app. Seems like it might read the OS version not from the registry but from ntdll.dll.

Galapo.

Probably it would make sense to move this topic to AppScripts. This script works both on LiveXP and VistaPE (and VPE CT'ed). Thanks, Dave

Billonius,

The new features are:
- Disk Copy
- Partition Copy
- 1.5 TB hard disks are supported now

Cheers,
Dave

PS
Lanelot, thanks for uploading to your server!

Hi DaveXP,

After some investigations, here are my findings for you:

1)
with your script i realized that unzip.exe sometimes (you may not repeat this issue) cause hang. This talked a lot on topics etc.. 7za.exe dont cause such a hang. So avoid using unzip.exe

So changing
ShellExecute,Hide,#$q%BaseDir%\Projects\tools\unzip.exe#$q," -o #$q%TmpFolder%\epm.zip#$q -d #$q%TmpFolder%#$q"
to:
ShellExecute,Hide,"%Tools%\7za.exe","x #$q%TmpFolder%\epm.zip#$q -y -o#$q%TmpFolder%#$q"

is better :(

ps: if you reaaally want to use unzip.exe, you can still use it with 3 lines in script without hang issue instead of 1 line with 7za.exe

2)
I know you are trying to make cross project (me too trying to make cross project with bartpe and livexp) so i know your feelings. So you invented \download\ folder :).

For that idea,
JonF and Galapo asked for a common variable %GlobalTemplates% in vistaPe project, so users like you can download to %GlobalTemplates%\Easus3x in all projects rather than inventing a directory, (At the moment I dont know if %GlobalTemplates% added to vistape project or not)

Here is a better idea for you,

If,NOTEXISTVAR,%GlobalSupport%,Set,%GlobalSupport%,%BaseDir%\Workbench
If,NOTEXISTVAR,%GlobalTemplates%,Set,%GlobalTemplates%,%GlobalSupport%\Common
If,NOTEXISTVAR,%GlobalTemp%,Set,%GlobalTemp%,%BaseDir%\Temp

with this you can use %GlobalSupport% , %GlobalTemplates% , %GlobalTemp% in vistape too :)

you will find example of usage for %GlobalTemp% and %GlobalTemplates% at attached script

3)
you forgot script directory feature (%pCheckBox5%) on interface to processes :( .

i make modifications for all 3, I know there is better simpler way for script writing, i wrote in a way to show you things, take a look (tested with livexp)

http://lancelot.winb...r_3x_DaveXP.rar

Thank you again for EASEUS and for making it a cross project

Some times I want to play the role of the bad guy. So, I wonder whether this application worths the hullabaloo since it is very very huge and very very limited.

I haven't forgotten that there are not many freeware partition managers out there.

Which allows me to play the one of the "worse" guy.

Please anyone that has at home, for not business purposes, a 1.5 Tb hard disk, can you raise your hand?

....consequences of competition and free market... ;)

as speaking for the free market, advertising useless advantages such as "1.5 TB hard disks are supported now" seems to me like these high tech mobil phones of 500 euros , because of 8 mpixel analysis & web-surfing support.
Why not buying a real high tech digi camera (8 mpixel, optical zoom x5 and more ....) with 150 euros and surfing from laptop?
Answering to your question, anyone who owns a 1,5 TB hard disk, should have enough €/$ to buy a trustful commersial tool.

i get the error that the 7za.exe is not found. Well, do you mean the 7z.exe? I take a look in the Toolsfolder and only find the 7z.exe and not the 7za.exe ..

or is 7za.exe another thing than 7z.exe? :)

i'm using vistape v12 rc1

Partition Manager 3 has been superseded by Partition Master Home 4.0.1.
Unfortunately that means that this script no longer works.
Since Easeus PM 4.0.1 is one of the very few free partition resizers out there for windows, would somebody care to update it?
I wish someone would teach me to do that so that I could help out in the forum.
Unfortunately I can't script a single line of code... :)
Cheers

You say that as if it was just about the time needed to do the job.
Right now I have some spare time but I lack scripting skills.
This sux ;)
Just let us know if (or when) you have it ready :(
Cheers
