I do not see this options in my winbuilder

Firefox doesn't work if the filenames are uppercase on the CD.

An other chance: use Boot SDI instead of Create ISO

Using a recent version of CreateISO.script it is possible to keep filenames lowercase in the folder 'Program Files'
(e.g. CreateISO.script Version=35 available on the server 'livexp.boot-land.net').

But there is some script which doesn't work fully correctly if you use Winbuilder version 074.
Don't know whether this newer CreateISO.script Version=35 works with Winbuilder version=074 or not, didn't try myself.
I think also this FireFox 3.0.3 script needs a newer Winbuilder version

Apparently the only way to avoid that is to copy your personal settings including your Foxmarks acount info. I tried to get rid of it when personal settings were not copied, and I failed.

Thanks so much for this script. I especially like having all my bookmarks, tabs, and settings in LiveXP so it's almost exactly like my desktop machine.

One thing I found- if I have FF open when I'm building LiveXP, none of my desktop FF settings are in the build. If I make sure FF is closed on my desktop, everything works fine. For me this is very repeatable, so maybe it will help someone else having problems getting their personal settings to work.

Using LiveXP-BootSDI, WinBuilder 076, Firefox306 version 8

Hum. That makes sense, it's probably Firefox holding the files open. Nothing I can do about it. If WinBuilder were changed to copy open files ... but maybe that's not a good idea.

There are a few tools, which can also copy files that are in use and in case of the bookmarks file this would also be without any danger.

Oops. Somehow an intermediate version escaped into the wild and overwrote all my correct copies. I'm testing a reconstituted correct version now, but it today is a busy day; it may be tomorrow before I can get the corrected version up.

Unitl then I've taken the bad version down.

Did you try it without copying your personal settings?

Are you building LiveXP or what?

Open Explorer and type %appdata% into the address window and press Enter. What path do you get, and is there a PE.User folder somewhere under ther. And are you sure that folder is not read-only?

That error always happens when you try and run Firefox from a non-writable location. If booting from CD/DVD Firefox must be compiled to run from RAM (boot.wim).

Not so. Maybe under some circumstances, but I've never encountered them. I always run Firefox form the CD with, of course, the profile directory in RAM (as is the default) and it works fine.

JonF, thought i give your script a home in NaughtyPE too, but it wouldn't work.

Maybe you can explain a few things to me.
- Why are there RegAddBoot entries instead of regadd entries used?
- Why does your script employ a loader?
- Why did you hardcode driveletter X:?

{ETA}Does Pedrole15's Commmon API work in NaughtyPE?

- Why are there RegAddBoot entries instead of regadd entries used?

For the Flash entries, I don't remember. Perhaps Reg_Add using %SystemRoot% would work. For the other entries, the reason is that the location of the referenced entities is not known until boot time in VistaPE (or win7PE). That's the whole point of RegAddBoot. RegAddBoot is implemented in the LiveXP API. I don't know how it's implemented. But RegAddBoot is required for the script to work in VistaPE, and therefore it's not going to work if RegAddBoot is not implemented, or it's not going to work in VistaPE.

- Why does your script employ a loader?

So it can create a user profile before Firefox runs, in projects in which the profile cannot be created at build time. For example, in LiveXP where the profile will live on a RAMdisk. Although the profile could be pre-created in VistaPE and Firefox could be run directly, I use the loader and create the profile at run time for simplicitly, so the script doesn't have to detect what kind of project it's running in.

- Why did you hardcode driveletter X:?

I don't remember. Perhaps Reg_Add using %SystemRoot% would work.

Thanks for the answers. So all in the name of cross compatibility!

Some days ago, i ran tests to check how compatibel NaughtyPE already is to CAPI.
After some minor glitch was corrected, NaughtyPE build fine. That's when i tryed your script.
(Pedroles CAPI is not yet part of the official distribution of NaughtyPE, but i can send you an upgrade pack, if you wanna try yourself.)

:P
