You can use the new beta of h7pluginbuilder to convert xpe plugin's to fully working scripts .. enable the encode registry option, restart program then batch convert ..

replace the old xpe scripts in wbxpe and test it

i think total build time will be 2 minutes

Hopefully, I get sometime in the weekend to test this.

Is this with any plugin or just the XPE ones for now.

Unfortunately it's still not working with a german source, which i find most curious.
I always though that BartPE could be build with any language source, but that the resulting PE was always english. :loleverybody:

if you know the exact different betwean these source's i'll try to make it work for any language source,or you can try it your self.

from now on you can consider it your project because after all i'm not script's developer :w00t:

Nice try h7se! :w00t:

The only difference should be the names of folders.
If you PM me an english shell32.dll, i will make a test.

Tryed to use The XPE plugin scripts with nativeEx.
Didn't work. Not even the files got copied. :loleverybody:

File copying problem is solved, you used commands that only the latest Winbuilder supports.

Some not so good news about Xpe are:
It needs Bartpe.exe
It's not working as a whole in nativeEx. (Maybe with english source?)
It's also not possible to use just a specific script. As there's always some dll missing. Seems to be a all or nothing deal.

I will have a closer look at the weekend. Maybe it can be used as a basis for scripts that work in nativeEX builds as well.

Can anyone verify that WBXPE project actually works, for anyone but h7se?
And if so, with what source?

While the King seems to be offline, the Guru tried to do the job.

But several errors complaining the path where the project is stored: C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\ ...
The error popups showed: 'C:\Dokumente'

Here one of the affected code lines:

If,%MergeNufiles%,Equal,True,ShellExecute,Open,"%Tools%\Autoit3.exe",
"%ProjectDir%\NuMerge.au3#$s%ScriptDir%\A43_nu2menu.xml#$s%TargetDir%\Programs\Nu2Menu\nu2menu.xml"

The blue parts should be in quotes, or #$q resp.

So you managed to boot to desktop with WBXPE build from a german source?
How did you do that? I never get further than a endless running progressbar.

PS: The bug mentioned, should not be language specific and happen to h7se as well, shouldn't it?

You misunderstood me (or I did not tell clear enough)
  • I started with XPP_SP2_EN as source
(obove, when testing the first version, I started with English, then I did the same with German)
  • I aborted the build, because of the many path errors
(And I did not want to move everything into a 'space free' path)

Sorry, though it worked for you, except for a few menu items missing.

But, thanks to your test, i stopped assuming that it would work flawless with an english source and did a new build and checked the log. (I know stupid, should have done that right away. :loleverybody: )

Found a few Problems of my own which have nothing to do with language, imo.

[codebox]CopyExpand - Failed to expand file: [C:\BootBuilder\XPSP2\I386\xpsp1res.dll] to: [C:\BootBuilder\WinBuilder072\Target\WBXPE\I386\system32\xpsp1res.dll] CopyExpand - Failed to expand file: [C:\BootBuilder\XPSP2\I386\xpsp2res.dll] to: [C:\BootBuilder\WinBuilder072\Target\WBXPE\I386\system32\xpsp2res.dll] CopyExpand - Failed to expand file: [C:\BootBuilder\XPSP2\I386\xpob2res.dll] to: [C:\BootBuilder\WinBuilder072\Target\WBXPE\I386\system32\xpob2res.dll][/codebox] As far as i can tell, those files do not exist in my source. :w00t: Peter do you have those files? Also a bunch of ini writes in NETMSCLI.INF don't happen: [codebox]INIwriteTextLine - Error adding line on INI file: [C:\BootBuilder\WinBuilder072\Target\WBXPE\I386\INF\NETMSCLI.INF] Section [MSClient.DelReg] line [HKLM, Software\Microsoft\Rpc\SecurityService, 9][/codebox]

:w00t:

edit:
Do sections have to exist before iniwritetextline can use them? the wiki says nothing about that.

edit2:
All those writes to inf files reminded me. We still have the unicode bug in WB don't we?

CopyExpand - Failed to expand file: [C:\BootBuilder\XPSP2\I386\xpsp1res.dll] to: [C:\BootBuilder\WinBuilder072\Target\WBXPE\I386\system32\xpsp1res.dll]CopyExpand - Failed to expand file: [C:\BootBuilder\XPSP2\I386\xpsp2res.dll] to: [C:\BootBuilder\WinBuilder072\Target\WBXPE\I386\system32\xpsp2res.dll]CopyExpand - Failed to expand file: [C:\BootBuilder\XPSP2\I386\xpob2res.dll] to: [C:\BootBuilder\WinBuilder072\Target\WBXPE\I386\system32\xpob2res.dll]

The XPsp2res.dll is a speciality of Bill G.In English source they are really called XPsp2res.dllBut in other languages e.g German (code 0407) the name is SPRT407.dll and is renamed on copy :loleverybody: I assume that with the other files that is similar.

Do sections have to exist before iniwritetextline can use them? the wiki says nothing about that.

I alwayd did a IniAddSection before writing text lines.

Made a new build and copied the missing dll from hand in.
Still no use! :loleverybody:
It's the unicode bug, i'm sure now.
The only part i do not get is, how this can work with english source.
Arn't the inf files in the english version unicode too?

Dont enable WMI, It takes forever to load it, so it seems. I see see why its disabled by default.
There is a way to have a local cached WMI for faster booting.
