nvidia lan driver with livexp

Hey man, glad to have you on board.
So I downloaded, burnt an run your ISO (took quite a while to start).
PEnetwork didn't find any card so it refused to start properly.
Then I ran Driver Import.
Imported my Nvidia driver from my system, no error.
Nothing with PEnetwork
Then I ran Driver Forge, same result.
When I checked my Hardware Manager, I just found an Nvidia Network Bus Enumerator, no problems.
Regards

These are not tests i would ask you, but thank you writing the results anyway.
I want you to make 2 tests
1)
there is a shortcut for driverforge (dforge) on desktop (DrvF_y_LAN_DPS), run it, and click Start with default options, in the end it will write "Installation Finished". Close dforge.
Than run it sameway again, click Start with default options and than close dforge.
Than run it sameway again, click Start with default options and than close dforge. (totally 3 times)
Than start penetwork, lets see if there is anychange??? also there is opera in your built to try.
2)
reboot the computer and start from cd (fresh start)
With driveimportpe (dipe)
*choose "Folder (Inf-File)"-->click OK
*Browse X:\Ethernet_NV6A\ and choose nvnetbus.inf
any driver found??? if yes, click "Import Driver"
than
close dipe and open dipe
*choose "Folder (Inf-File)"-->click OK
*Browse X:\Ethernet_NV6A\ and choose nvnetfd.inf
any driver found??? if yes, click "Import Driver"
Than start penetwork, lets see if there is anychange???
Good luck
Dont worry, when you build your own iso it will start verrry faster like a tornado. This is test for you.took quite a while to start
btw,minor question, which OS you use, and how much ram you have?

OK here are the results:
started 3 times then PENetwork
Started completely the first time in an ISO. But no driver listed.
But I could retrieve Debug Text
Opera: Could not locate remote server
2)
reboot the computer and start from cd (fresh start)
With driveimportpe (dipe)
*choose "Folder (Inf-File)"-->click OK
*Browse X:\Ethernet_NV6A\ and choose nvnetbus.inf
any driver found??? if yes, click "Import Driver"
found Nvidia Network Bus Enumerator
Installation failed, so no changes with PEnetwork (only in simple mode)
than
close dipe and open dipe
*choose "Folder (Inf-File)"-->click OK
*Browse X:\Ethernet_NV6A\ and choose nvnetfd.inf
any driver found??? if yes, click "Import Driver"
Than start penetwork, lets see if there is anychange???
Wrong driver, nothing happened in dipe and in PEnetwork
Ah, and I have XP Pro SP3 with 4 MB ram
That's it

now can you try this:
With driveimportpe (dipe)
*choose "Folder (Inf-File)"-->click OK
*Browse X:\Program Files\DriverForge_y_LAN_DPS\DPS\ and choose DP_LAN_wnt5_x86-32_8053.7z
it will find "Nvidia Network Bus Enumerator", "click import driver"
than close dipe, open dipe again
*choose "Folder (Inf-File)"-->click OK
*Browse X:\Program Files\DriverForge_y_LAN_DPS\DPS\ and choose DP_LAN_wnt5_x86-32_8053.7z
if it finds first "Nvidia Network Bus Enumerator", click "Find Next"
if it finds another driver (does it find another driver), click "import driver"
than close dipe, start PEnetwork
lets see what will happen!?

Rather frustrating!installation of driver failed
no other diver
installation of driver failed
Same as bevore: nothing
Do you have a 'standard installation' floppy / CD for this driver?
If yes, try that in the running PE.
If it still fails, something else is missing in the PE, where the driver depends on.
And then we have to find what it is.
Every other trials with PENetwork, Driver Import, myNIC, etc. ... would be senceless.

I guess it is onboard ethernet controller
can you write your motherboard model (and maybe if you already have website)

Himm, probably there is a mismatch with this and the Ethernet.zip you sent before.
I guess it is onboard ethernet controller
can you write your motherboard model (and maybe if you already have website)
My motherboard is from ASRock: 939N68PV-GLAN
And here is the complete set of Ethernet drivers from the instalation CD
I guess in the first one were the subfolders missing:
www.zagorski.de/test/ethernet.zip (this is my website)
@Peter
Do you have a 'standard installation' floppy / CD for this driver?
If yes, try that in the running PE.
I did that, but no luck.
But I did not use any of the subfolders, because I did not know which

Do this:
-extract Ethernet_Johannes01.rar to C:\
-start from cd
-With driveimportpe (dipe)
*choose "Folder (Inf-File)"-->click OK
*Browse C:\Ethernet_Johannes01\ and choose nvnetbus.inf
any driver found??? if yes, click "Import Driver"

you can try a test script from here:
http://holger.boot-l...rk_V33-Test.zip
Just extract the downloaded file into your project-subdir and do a WinBuilder refresh.
It is not completely finished cause I'm rewriting the GUI at the moment so some things are not working.
However, I fixed a bug in the driver copy function and also added an option to select if you want to copy all found device driver files from the selected directory.
You have to select the folder in the option "Add drivers from this directory..." in the PENetwork-script!
Just take a look at the script and give it a try.
It is just for testing the changed driver copy function!
While driver copying (in your host OS) there will then created in your %temp% folder a file "PENMDrvCpy.txt".

can you send log file for dipe.
here is what i want:
-With driveimportpe (dipe)
*choose "Folder (Inf-File)"-->click OK
*Browse C:\Ethernet_Johannes01\ and choose nvnetbus.inf
as you say it will respond "installation failed"
close dipe
there is file at B:\_drvimp.log
can you send _drvimp.log
Hi Holger
thanks for new script,
For info: I sent Johannes a ready livexp iso with fbwf to make trials for dipe, the posts i send Johannes are trials with this cd.

besides _drvimp.log
can you also do this:
download
http://www.kare-net....DrvImp-help.exe
to your xpsp3 desktop, double click it, it will create
Drvimp-help.txt
on desktop.
please attach this file.
totally i ask for 2 files, Drvimp-help.txt and _drvimp.log
Holger:
i forgot to mention, Johannes first came to boot-land here and mixed up things with building (probably that is why he couldnt test your new penetwork.script fastly) as understood from following messages, i realized there is a problem with penetwork here and as it is hard to be sure Johannes makes the right build with the right driver, i prefer sending a mini iso prepared by me to test. Kare told me that he used same mainboard with livexp-dipe ethernet before. And story continues

I dont know if I got this right:
I am using the NativeEx_barebone_075 build
This I did, restarted winbuild and then I playedYou have to select the folder in the option "Add drivers from this directory..." in the PENetwork-script!
In Qemu PENM found again theRealtek adapter
While driver copying (in your host OS) there will then created in your %temp% folder a file "PENMDrvCpy.txt".
Unfortunately I could not find any such file in my host machine
Hi Lancelot,
here is the dipe log

as it is hard to be sure Johannes makes the right build with the right driver
By now I have for version of LiveXP on my Desktop.
I started with the regular download, then after reading Amalux Tutorial I started with his projects.
The Peter complained because the log files were too long and made me start the barebone.
This was the reason why i fefrained to start an other one by MedEvil because I was shure to get reprimanded again
I dont mind if I start an new one just for testing.
Just tell which build I should use.
Sorry about all those mixups.
But this comes when you try to comply to eveybody

None or all of them!Just tell which build I should use.
That does not matter.
Your problem is:
You already made the trial to setup the driver by using the original nVidia setup exe.
And that did not work!
That means that in the standard nativeEx core (used by LiveXP, Amalux's package and NaughtyPE(?)) something like a DLL or a running service or whatelse is missing which is needed during the driver installation.
This something has to be found and added to the build.
Trying with different projects, established apps like PENetwork, hwpnp, myNIC or beta functions like Driver Import, cannot help. They all do not find the needed functionality in the PE, because it is not provided.
So use the simplest project nativeEx_barebone, and try to find out which DLLs, services etc are needed to make original setup possible.
EDIT: A hot candidate for me wold be txtsetup.sif with the [HardwareIdsDatabase] section.

The question is the contents of txtsetup.sif which is used in the final PE.I don't know if this is of any use, but I found quite a few on my lokal machine.
If yes, here is a list of them
This txtsetup.sif defines fundamental properties, like HALs, Bus Drivers etc. for use in the PE.
If you look through your project, several scripts add some information to txtsetup.sif, bacause their app needs this additional info.
BTW: txtsetup.sif is my hot candidate. But maybe there is only a missing DLL or a missing reg entry to start a service ...

If I understood you correctly you wanted the file from the last Barebone ISO.
I extracted it with Isobuster

probably you are one of the unlucky pe user with your current lan. Interestingly it seems only your network adapter have potential to make such an error, and by luck you are here, you came all the way here, i hope you continue.
here are some things i ask you
http://lancelot.winb...JohannesNV3.rar
http://lancelot.winb...JohannesNV5.rar
-extract Ethernet_JohannesNV3.rar to C:\
-extract Ethernet_JohannesNV5.rar to C:\
1) test 1:
-start from cd
-With driveimportpe (dipe)
*choose "Folder (Inf-File)"-->click OK
*Browse C:\Ethernet_JohannesNV3\ and choose nvnetbus.inf
any driver found???
if yes, click "Import Driver", if "installation failed" test1 failed restart pc, and start again with cd.
if you have success with bus driver, close dipe and open dipe
*choose "Folder (Inf-File)"-->click OK
*Browse C:\Ethernet_JohannesNV3\ and choose nvenetfd.inf
any driver found??? if yes, click "Import Driver"
Than start penetwork, etc
2) test 2:
-start from cd
-With driveimportpe (dipe)
*choose "Folder (Inf-File)"-->click OK
*Browse C:\Ethernet_JohannesNV5\ and choose nvnetbus.inf
any driver found???
if yes, click "Import Driver", if "installation failed" test2 failed restart pc.
if you have success with bus driver, close dipe and open dipe
*choose "Folder (Inf-File)"-->click OK
*Browse C:\Ethernet_JohannesNV3\ and choose nvenetfd.inf
any driver found??? if yes, click "Import Driver"
Than start penetwork, etc
3) somefiles:
from your hostos (xpsp3) make a search in c:\, can you attach these files you find:
fdco1.dll
NVENETFD.sys
nvefdxp.sys
nvenetfd.inf
nvnetbus.inf
nvnetbus.sys
