Please don't forget to delete this topic too.
Why?
It shows how much freedom there is on this board.

A perfect example of thread jacking.
I read the link, but I cannot find any correlation.
Can you explain?

Original thread was intended to deletion of a member's account. Now, florin91 posts a request to change his display name. Changing display name is a completely different context w.r.t. what is supposed to be discussed here, i.e. deletion of account. People will start requesting & discussing about display names, changing them, how the former was better than the current one or vice versa etc. This way the original thread will get buried. Now does the scenario match with that of the definition? So, it is always advisable to restrain/war.alarm such practices from the very beginning. Can you explain?

Ok, done!Please delete my account.
Well, some people really see in advantage in deleting the account if it is not being used. There are cases where the site owner decides to sell the email address of registered users to marketing campaigns that later on just spam the user.I can't Understand Why ppls telling Delete my Account........
Also, the user might get tired of getting our weekly newsletters on his email box. Regardless of whichever reason motivates his request, it is right and we comply.
Just for the record:
On the footer of each page you find a "contact us" where it is possible to request account removal.

ehh Nuno, why do you not add an Button in the User-Config/Profile of the Users, so it's enabling for deleting the Account by self ..
oorrr, link this button with an notification for the Admins to be more save (because deletion need admin/root rights)
so it is an ... or maby an checkbox -> Delete my account -> sent an notification to all Admins and mark the account as "for delete" in color red .. maybe .. and gives the User 20-30 minutes time to remove the den hoe if he whant it not, and if he leve it want be delete/kick or something ,
the Useraccount ..
Therewith can't play an game with ...?you? or someone who be admin..
and if anyone nerves anyway with "please delete my account" or some .. hold the ip in background and disable his IP with an Ban silence in background *hehe* And removes the ban behind 30 Day's silence in background also..
and if no activity's any more with this "dma"-trigger, longer as 30 day's .. so delete the account in any case .. because it's maybe not need .. and hold the Userdb clean (30day's ban+30Day's no activity=kick/delete the User)
it's this maybe not an idea /suggestion ?
best regards

It is a good idea and I'd love to see it available but I don't have the necessary skills to implement the feature, wouldn't have time/interest to acquire these skills and keep the new plugin updated across new versions of the forum software.
Ideally, would be great if some freelance PHP developer could make this available as a plugin to install here.
When considering that not so often a user requests his account to be deleted, I am ok with doing it manually. Would be great indeed if any user can delete his own account without needing to contact the administration first.
